December 23, 1931 ~ May 23, 2018
Dorothy Blanch Roddom, our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away on May 23, 2018. She was born December 23, 1931, in Ogden, Utah, to Sarah Leona Hogge and Willard R. Blanch. She was married to Elmer Haskell, later divorced, she then married Robert Roddom Jr., later divorced.
Dot loved her family and was happiest spending time with them. She grew up in Lakeside and West Weber, graduating from Weber High School in 1950. She was a lifelong resident of South Ogden and worked many years at Mountain Bell, retiring as a supervisor. She served as President, Vice President and Historian of the Alpha Tau Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International and loved helping earn funds for the Children of St. Jude. She enjoyed spending time sewing, crocheting, getting her hands dirty in the garden, and cooking for her family. She lovingly cared for her animals, Snoopy, Tank and Archie. Anyone who passed through her door was always made to feel welcomed and wanted.
Dot is survived by children, Rhonda Malloy, Robert L (Susan) Roddom, and Robin (Bill) Obin; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Mary Ann Hipwell and Billie Lou Lund. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Norman; and sister, Betty Jean.
Cremation entrusted to Myers Ogden Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers donations in Dot's name to St. Jude's would be appreciated.
